PARSHAT: Devariym (Deuteronomy) 33:1 - 34:12

And this is the blessing, wherewith Mosheh the man of Elohiym blessed the

children of Yashar’el before his death. 2 And he said, Yahuah came from Ciynai,

and rose up from Se`iyr unto them; he shined forth from Mount Pa’ran, and he came

with ten thousands of qodeshiym: from his right hand went a fiery law for

them. 3 Yea, he loved the people; all his qodeshiym are in your hand: and they sat

down at your feet; everyone shall receive of your words. 4 Mosheh commanded us

a Torah, even the inheritance of the assembly of Ya`aqov. 5 And he was king in

Yasharun, when the heads of the people and the tribes of Yashar’el were gathered

together.

6 Let Re’uven live, and not die; and let not his men be few.

7 And this is the blessing of Yahudah: and he said: Hear, Yahuah, the voice of

Yahudah, and bring him unto his people: let his hands be sufficient for him; and be

you a help to him from his enemies.

8 And of Leviy he said: Let your Tummiym and your Uriym be with your chaciyd,

whom you did prove at Maccah, and with whom you did strive at the waters of

Meriyvah; 9 Who said unto his father and to his mother, I have not seen him; neither

did he acknowledge his brethren, nor knew his own children: for they have guarded

your word and kept your covenant. 10 They shall teach Ya`aqov your judgments,

and Yashar’el your Torah: they shall put incense before you, and whole ascending

smoke sacrifice upon your altar. 11 Bless, Yahuah, his substance, and accept the

work of his hands: smite through the loins of them that rise against him, and of them

that hate him, that they rise not again.

12 And of Binyamiyn he said: The beloved of Yahuah shall dwell in safety by

him; and Yahuah shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his

shoulders.

13 And of Yoceph he said: Blessed of Yahuah be his land, for the precious things

of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that couches beneath, 14 And for theprecious fruits brought forth by the sun, and for the precious things put forth by the

moon, 15 And for the chief things of the ancient mountains, and for the precious

things of the lasting hills, 16 And for the precious things of the earth and fulness

thereof, and for the good will of him that dwelt in the thorn bush: let the

blessing come upon the head of Yoceph, and upon the top of the head of him that

was separated from his brethren. 17 His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and

his horns are like the horns of the reym: with them he shall push the people together

to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephrayim, and

they are the thousands of Menashsheh.

18 And of Zevulun he said, Rejoice, Zevulun, in your going out; and Yisshakar, in

your tents. 19 They shall call the people unto the mountain; there they shall offer

sacrifices of righteousness: for they shall suck of the abundance of the seas,

and of treasures hid in the sand.

20 And of Gad he said: Blessed be he that enlarges Gad: he dwells as a lion and

tears the arm with the crown of the head. 21 And he provided the first part for

himself, because there, in a portion of the Torah giver, was he seated; and he came

with the heads of the people, he executed the justice of Yahuah, and his judgments

with Yashar’el.

22 And of Dan he said: Dan is a lion's whelp: he shall leap from Bashan.

23 And of Naphtaliy he said, O Naphtaliy, satisfied with favor, and full with the

blessing of Yahuah: possess you the west and the south.

24 And of Asher he said, Let Asher be blessed with children; let him be acceptable

to his brethren, and let him dip his foot in oil. 25 Your shoes shall be iron and brass;

and as your days, so shall your strength be.

26 There is none like unto the El of Yasharun, who rides upon the heavens in your

help, and in his excellency on the sky. 27 The eternal Elohai is your refuge, and

underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before

you; and shall say: Destroy them.

28 Yashar’el then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Ya`aqov shall be upon

a land of grain and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew. 29 Happy are you,

O Yashar’el: who is like unto you, O people saved by Yahuah, the shield of your

help, and who is the sword of your excellency! and your enemies shall be found

liars unto you; and you shall tread upon their high places.

CHAPTER 34

And Mosheh went up from the plains of Mo’av unto the mountain of Nevu, to the top

of Picgah, that is over against Yeriycho. And Yahuah showed him all the land of

Gil`ad, unto Dan, 2 And את all Naphtaliy, and the land of Ephrayim, and

Menashsheh, and all the land of Yahudah, unto the utmost sea, 3 And the Negev,

and the circle of the valley of Yeriycho, the city of palm trees, unto

Tso`ar. 4 And Yahuah said unto him: This is the land which I swore seven oaths

unto Avraham, unto Yitschaq, and unto Ya`aqov, saying: I will give it unto your

seed: I have caused you to see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over thither.5 So Mosheh the servant of Yahuahdied there in the land of Mo’av, according to

the Word of Yahuah. 6 And he buried him in a valley in the land of Mo’av, over

against Beyt Pe`or: but no man knows of his sepulcher unto this day.

7 And Mosheh was a hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not

dim, nor his natural force abated.

8 And the children of Yashar’el wept for Mosheh in the plains of Mo’av thirty days:

so the days of weeping and mourning for Mosheh were ended.

9 And Yahusha the son of Nun was full of the Ruach Chokmah; for Mosheh had

laid his hands upon him: and the children of Yashar’el hearkened unto him and did

as Yahuah commanded Mosheh.

10 And there arose not a prophet since in Yashar’el like unto Mosheh,

whom Yahuah knew face to face, 11 In all the signs and the wonders,

which Yahuah sent him to do in the land of Mitsrayim to Phar`oh, and to all his

servants, and to all his land, 12 And in all that mighty hand, and in all the great

terror which Mosheh showed in the sight of all Yashar’el.

HAFTORAH: Yahusha (Joshua) 1:1-18

Now after the death of Mosheh the servant of Yahuah it came to pass,

that Yahuah spoke unto El-Yahusha the son of Nun, Mosheh’s minister,

saying: 2 Mosheh my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Yardan,

you, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children

of Yashar’el. 3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I

given unto you, as I said unto Mosheh. 4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon

even unto the great river, the river Perath, all the land of the Chittiym, and unto the

Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast. 5 There shall not

any man be able to stand before you all the days of your life: as I was with

Mosheh, so I will be with you: I will not fail you, nor forsake you. 6 Be strong and of

a good courage: for unto this people shall you divide for an inheritance the land,

which I swore seven oaths unto their fathers to give them. 7 Only be strong and

very courageous, that you may guard to do according to all the Torah, which

Mosheh my servant commanded you: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left,

that you may prosper whithersoever you go. 8 This Cepher of the Torah shall not

depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may

guard to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way

prosperous, and then you shall have good success. 9 Have not I commanded you?

Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be dismayed:

for Yahuah Elohayka is with you whithersoever you go.

10 Then Yahusha commanded the officers of the people, saying: 11 Pass through

the host, and command the people, saying: Prepare you victuals; for within threedays ye shall pass over this Yardan, to go in to possess the land,

which Yahuah Elohaykem gives you to possess it.

12 And to the Re’uveniym, and to the Gadiym, and to half the tribe of Menashsheh,

spoke Yahusha, saying: 13 Remember the word which Mosheh the servant

of Yahuah commanded you, saying: Yahuah Elohaykem has given you rest, and

has given you this land. 14 Your women, your little ones, and your cattle, shall

remain in the land which Mosheh gave you on this side of the Yardan; but ye shall

pass before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valor, and help

them; 15 Until Yahuah have given your brethren rest, as he has given you, and

they also have possessed the land which Yahuah Elohaykem gives them: then ye

shall return unto the land of your possession, and enjoy it, which

Mosheh Yahuah’s servant gave you on this side of the Yardan toward the

sunrising.

16 And they answered Yahusha, saying: All that you command us we will do, and

whithersoever you send us, we will go. 17 According as we hearkened unto Mosheh

in all things, so will we hearken unto you: only Yahuah Elohayka be with you, as he

was with Mosheh. 18 Whosoever he be that rebels against your commandment and

will not hearken unto your words in all that you command him, he shall be put to

death: only be strong and of a good courage.

BESORAH: Ma'asiym (Acts) 27:1 - 28:31

And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Pa’al and

certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus'

band. 2 And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by

the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Makedonian of Tasloniqiy, being with

us. 3 And the next day we touched at Tsiydon. And Julius courteously entreated

Pa’al and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself. 4 And when we

had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were

contrary. 5 And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came

to Myra, a city of Lycia. 6 And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing

into Italy; and he put us therein. 7 And when we had sailed slowly many days, and

scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under

Crete, over against Salmone; 8 And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is

called, The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea. 9 Now when much

time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast of Yom

Kippuriym was now already past, Pa’al admonished them, 10 And said unto them:

Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the

lading and ship, but also of our lives. 11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the

master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by

Pa’al.12 And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised

to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phoenicia, and there to

winter, which is a haven of Crete, and lies toward the south west and north

west. 13 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had

obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete. 14 But not long

after, there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon. 15 And when

the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive. 16 And

running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come

by the boat: 17 Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the

ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksand, strake sail, and את so

were driven. 18 And we, being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they

lightened the ship; 19 And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling

of the ship. 20 And when neither sun, nor moon, nor stars in many days appeared,

and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken

away.

21 But after long abstinence Pa’al stood forth in the midst of them, and said: Sirs, ye

should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have

gained this harm and loss. 22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there

shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship. 23 For there stood by

me this night the angel of Elohiym, whose I am, and whom I serve, 24 Saying, Fear

not, Pa’al; you must be brought before Qeycar: and, lo, Elohiym has given you all

of them that sail with you. 25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I

believe Elohiym, that it shall be even as it was told to me. 26 Howbeit we must be

cast upon a certain island. 27 But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were

driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew

near to some country; 28 And sounded and found it twenty fathoms: and when they

had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms. 29 Then

fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the

stern, and wished for the day. 30 And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the

ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under color as though they

would have cast anchors out of the foreship, 31 Pa’al said to the centurion and to

the soldiers: Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved. 32 Then the

soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat and let her fall off. 33 And while the day was

coming on, Pa’al besought them all to take food, saying: This day is the fourteenth

day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing. 34 Wherefore I

pray you to take some food: for this is for your health: for there shall not a hair fall

from the head of any of you. 35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and

gave thanks to Elohiym in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he

began to eat. 36 Then were they all of good cheer, and they also

took some food. 37 And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and

sixteen souls. 38 And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and

cast out the wheat into the sea. 39 And when it was day, they knew not the land: butthey discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it

were possible, to thrust in the ship. 40 And when they had taken up the anchors,

they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoisted

up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore. 41 And falling into a place

where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and

remained immoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the

waves. 42 And the soldiers' counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them

should swim out, and escape. 43 But the centurion, willing to save Pa’al, kept them

from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should

cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land: 44 And the rest, some on boards,

and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped

all safe to land.

CHAPTER 28

And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called

Melita. 2 And the barbarous people showed us no little kindness: for they kindled a

fire, and received us everyone, because of the present rain, and because of the

cold. 3 And when Pa’al had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire,

there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand. 4 And when the

barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among

themselves: No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped the

sea, yet vengeance suffers not to live. 5 And he shook off the beast into the fire and

felt no harm. 6 Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen or fallen down

dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to

him, they changed their minds, and said that he was an elohiym. 7 In the same

quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius,

who received us, and lodged us three days courteously. 8 And it came to pass, that

the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Pa’al entered

in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him. 9 So when this was

done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were

healed: 10 Who also honored us with many honors; and when we departed, they

laded us with such things as were necessary.

11 And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered

in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux. 12 And landing at Syracuse, we

tarried there three days. 13 And from thence we fetched a compass and came to

Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to

Puteoli: 14 Where we found brethren and were desired to tarry with them seven

days: and so we went toward Rome. 15 And from thence, when the brethren heard

of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and, The three taverns: whom

when Pa’al saw, he thanked Elohiym, and took courage. 16 And when we came to

Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Pa’al

was suffered to dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him.17 And it came to pass, that after three days Pa’al called the chief of the Yahudiym

together: and when they were come together, he said unto them: Men and brethren,

though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet

was I delivered prisoner from Yerushalayim into the hands of the

Romaiym. 18 Who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because

there was no cause of death in me. 19 But when the Yahudiym spoke against it, I

was constrained to appeal unto Qeycar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation

of. 20 For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak

with you: because that for the Hope of Yashar’el I am bound with this chain. 21 And

they said unto him: We neither received letters out of Yahud concerning you, neither

any of the brethren that came showed or spoke any harm of you. 22 But we desire

to hear of you what you think: for as concerning this sect, we know that everywhere

it is spoken against.

23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him

into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the Kingdom of Elohiym,

persuading them concerning Yahusha, both out of the Law of Mosheh, and out

of the prophets, from morning till evening. 24 And some believed the things which

were spoken, and some believed not. 25 And when they agreed not among

themselves, they departed, after that Pa’al had spoken one word: Well spoke

the Ruach Ha’Qodesh by Yesha`yahu the prophet unto our fathers, 26 Saying,

Go unto this people, and say: Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and

seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: 27 For the heart of this people is waxed

gross, and their ears are dull of hearing and their eyes have they closed; lest they

should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart,

and should turn back, and I should heal them.

28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the yeshu`ah of Elohiym is sent unto the

other nations, and that they will hear it. 29 And when he had said these words, the

Yahudiym departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.

30 And Pa’al dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received את all that

came in unto him, 31 Preaching the Kingdom of Elohiym, and teaching those

things which concern the Adonai Yahusha Ha’Mashiach, with all confidence, no

man forbidding him
